Library Services & Departments

Our departments provide services to help our patrons find resources and materials, as well as coordinate programs of interest for our library community.

Adult Services Department

REFERENCE
The Reference staff is trained in both print and electronic resources. The computer catalog, the World Wide Web in addition to major databases such as FirstSearch and EbscoHost MasterFile may be utilized to answer patron questions efficiently and thoroughly.

INTERLIBRARY LOAN
Interlibrary Loan allows patrons to obtain materials located at other libraries. You can contact the Referencestaff with your request.

You may also use the database FirstSearch to search for materials yourself, but they need to be ordered by the Library. If you find what you need, please print a copy of the record and bring it to the Reference Department.

COMPUTER CATALOG
The computer catalog (SWAN) enables patrons to search the holdings of all libraries within the Metropolitan Library System. For individual assistance with the use of the computerized catalog, please contact the Reference staff.

Notary Public Service and Voter's Registration are also available in the Reference Department.

Circulation Services Department

Loan periods for materials are:

Young Adult Services Department

The Young Adult Department serves teens in grades 7-12 through programming and reader's advisory. The strength of the YA Department lies in the collection, which includes a variety of materials - books, cds, graphic novels, and video games.
