BookReporter.com is starting the new year off with a novel, no pun intended feature. Each month they will explore in depth the works of 12 suspense/thriller authors. January's author is Stephen Frey, whose latest book is Silent Partner. http://www.bookreporter.com/yearlong_suspense_thriller/index.asp

They think of something you would find in an adult bookstore instead of a picture book for teens," says Caryn Sipos, president of the Young Adult Library Services Association in Vancouver, Wash."

"Despite the racy name, graphic novels are full-length books that are illustrated sequentially. And they're flying off the shelves in Colorado. Teenagers are reading, requesting and putting them on hold at libraries. They're buying them at bookstores, and they are talking about them with friends."

"It's a fairly new trend," says Cheryl Scheer, child collections specialist for the Denver Public Library. "Over the last two years, it's really taken off." (from Denver Post) [Library Stuff - Updated daily by Steven M. Cohen]

We have quite a few graphic novels in our Young Adult Department, stop by, browse and perhaps check one out.
