This presentation offers a grounded approach to navigating the journey of parenting a child with a disability by focusing on three essential pillars: personal well-being, school collaboration, and practical home support.
Maggie Sheldon is the Assistant Director of Curriculum, Instruction, & Professional Development of the A.E.R.O. Special Education Cooperative. She began work as a special education teacher before transitioning to a leadership role as an administrator. She also brings lived experience, as a parent of a child with a disability. Her professional interests include autism, literacy development, behavior, and crisis intervention.
Note: This presentation is designed for parents and caregivers; however, you are more than welcome to bring your child. To ensure a comfortable environment, sensory tools will be available for use throughout the session.
