Business Manger

The La Grange Park Public Library is seeking a friendly, focused, and organized individual to serve as our next Business Manager. Ideal candidates will work well independently, show exceptional judgement, and have accounting knowledge and experience. 


Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing of accounts payable and receivable
  • Maintaining automated fund accounting system via Quickbooks
  • Acting as liaison to vendors; maintaining all vendor lists, records, and invoices
  • Processing payroll and administering employee benefits
  • Routine banking, including management of petty cash
  • Working with auditors in preparation of the annual financial report
  • Preparing statistics, reports, and proposals as requested
  • Serving on the management team to develop, implement, and evaluate strategic initiatives

This role requires a college degree in business, finance, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of office management experience. 


Our library district serves a community of just under 14,000 in suburban Cook County with a vision to Enrich Lives in our community. We offer four weeks of paid vacation annually, accrued sick time, personal days, nine paid holidays, and IMRF pension. 


This is an exempt position reporting to the Executive Director with a salary beginning at $50,000 annually, DOQ.

Volunteer @ the Library

Volunteering at the Library is a rewarding and fun experience, and a great way to give back to your community! You will join a dedicated group who volunteer for us regularly. Friends of the Library

The Friends provide financial support to the library through yearly membership dues and book sales. The bookshop sells donated items at modest prices and is staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers. The Friends accept gently used books, magazines, and DVDs, and are glad to offer a donation receipt if requested. Support the Friends when you shop at through this link and the Friends will receive 0.5% of eligible purchases.
