Adult Services Reference Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and collaborative Reference Assistant for our Adult Services Department. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with a diverse community, demonstrating the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Duties:

  • Works public service desk, performing reference and reader’s advisory services
  • Plans and implements educational and recreational programs for adults
  • Assists with collection management and development, as assigned
  • Assists patrons in the use of technology i.e.: computers, eReaders, phones, tablets
  • Willingness to become a certified notary public (training will be provided)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of college; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum one year of work experience in a customer focused environment; library experience preferred
  • Employment is contingent upon a background check

Salary is $18 an hour depending on qualifications.

Donations

The library accepts donations of new or gently used materials. Most needed are new, popular, and children’s books in good condition. Donations are limited to 1-2 bags or boxes per week and must be brought to the Circulation Desk.
