Not Quite Dead: Zombies in History & Folklore (Ages 13+)

Long before they shuffled across movie screens, stories of the dead returning—or people existing somewhere between life and death—appeared in cultures around the world. This presentation explores the zombie’s roots in Haitian Vodou, including the mysterious figure of the zombi, before venturing into folklore and mythology to uncover other beings that bear an eerie resemblance to the living dead. Discover how different cultures have imagined the boundary between life and death—and the unsettling creatures said to cross it.

Recommended for ages 13 and up. Registration required.
