Reading is empowering! Learn about new perspectives and celebrate the freedom to read with books that have been challenged or banned throughout the years.

Choose from our lists of recommended titles or find a banned book on your own. You can even spend some time researching censorship here. All the reading you do counts!

Log your reading time to earn badges throughout the challenge. Read 2 hours to be entered into a drawing for a $30 gift card to Barbara’s Bookstore and a spiffy tote bag celebrating the freedom to read! Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a bookmark and sticker.

Banned Books Week runs from September 22-September 28, 2024 but you have until the end of October to complete this challenge!
